An official inquiry has been initiated after the tragic death of Priyanka Bishnoi, a 33-year-old Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) officer, who passed away late Wednesday while receiving treatment in Ahmedabad. Bishnoi’s relatives claim that a recent surgery performed at a private hospital in Jodhpur was botched, leading to her deteriorating condition.
Bishnoi, a 2016 batch officer from Bikaner, had undergone the operation two weeks ago. Her health reportedly declined post-surgery, prompting accusations of medical negligence. In response to these serious allegations, Jodhpur District Collector Gaurav Agrawal has ordered a comprehensive inquiry. This investigation will be conducted by a five-member team led by Bharti Saraswat, the Principal of Sampurnanand Medical College (SNMC) in Jodhpur.
At the time of her death, Bishnoi was serving as Assistant Collector in Jodhpur and had recently been appointed as Deputy Commissioner with Jodhpur North Municipal Corporation, although she had not yet assumed her new role.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma expressed his condolences on X, stating, “The demise of Rajasthan Administrative Service officer Priyanka Bishnoi ji is extremely sad. I pray to Lord Shri Ram to grant her eternal peace and give strength to her family to endure this grief.”
Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also expressed his sorrow over Bishnoi’s passing, highlighting the profound loss to the community.
