In a relentless 72-hour operation, 25 forest department teams in Bahraich’s Sisiya village successfully captured one of the three wolves responsible for a series of fatal attacks. Equipped with drones, nets, and tranquilizer guns, the teams focused on the sugarcane fields where the wolves were spotted. Over 47 days, seven people, including six children, were killed by these wolves.
Despite the capture of this male wolf, which is the fourth apprehended, efforts are ongoing to capture the remaining two wolves. The forest department’s operation was one of the largest in recent years, involving night-vision drones and intensive ground traps. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had dispatched Forest Minister Arun Kumar Saxena to oversee the situation. The breakthrough came when drones detected the wolves near a specific house in Sisiya. The captured wolf was found with an injured foot and had been active for the past two months.
