A disturbing theory is emerging in the case of the trainee doctor who was brutally raped and murdered at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. Some of her colleagues are speculating that she may have been targeted because she knew too much about certain activities within the hospital.
The doctor was found dead in a seminar hall, just hours after she had gone there to rest. According to entries in her personal diary, she had been under tremendous work pressure, often working up to 36 hours at a stretch. This has raised suspicions that her death might not be just a random act of violence.
Colleagues from the hospital have voiced concerns that her death may have involved more than just the accused, Sanjoy Roy. One of her colleagues questioned how Roy knew she was alone in the seminar hall at that specific time, suggesting that he could have been part of a larger conspiracy involving influential individuals.
“There are signs that this was not just a straightforward case of rape and murder. She may have been deliberately targeted. How did the civic volunteer know she was alone in the seminar hall at that hour?” asked a colleague.
Another colleague hinted that the victim might have been aware of something she wasn’t supposed to know. There are rumors circulating about a potential drug siphoning operation within her department that she could have been trying to expose.
The victim’s parents, upon being informed of her death, told the police that she had spoken to them about the immense pressure she was under at work. They also suggested that she might have stumbled upon something suspicious in her department.
Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) questioned the former principal of RG Kar Medical College about his whereabouts on the night of the crime. The agency found his answers unclear and is now cross-checking his statements with those of other medical staff present that night.
The post-mortem report revealed that the doctor was subjected to extreme genital torture before being strangled to death. Blood was found around her eyes, mouth, and private parts, indicating the severity of the assault.
As the investigation continues, this new theory is adding a complex layer to an already tragic and shocking case. The involvement of more individuals, possibly with significant influence, is now being considered by the authorities.
