The young doctor, whose life was tragically ended at RG Kar Hospital less than two weeks ago, had dreams of achieving significant milestones in her medical career, including winning a gold medal. She had even outlined the hospitals she aspired to work at in a torn diary found near her body. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), currently investigating the case, has taken possession of the diary and is consulting handwriting experts to confirm if the 31-year-old authored it.

Her parents confirmed that she habitually kept a diary. It was discovered near her body on August 9 in the seminar room where she was brutally raped and murdered.

Sources revealed that parts of the diary had been torn out, but what remained provided insight into her aspirations, her personal likes and dislikes, and her deep love for her parents.

“The deceased aspired to become a distinguished doctor. She aimed to win a gold medal and other significant honors in the medical field… She had plans to pursue an MD,” a source informed NDTV.

The diary also mentioned specific hospitals where she dreamed of working, along with her desire to make her parents proud.

Her parents had previously mentioned that she was struggling with depression related to her work and studies. She had voiced concerns about whether she would be allowed to pass, echoing the allegations of irregularities at the medical college under the leadership of Sandip Ghosh, who is now under investigation by the state police.

The former principal, Dr. Sandip Ghosh, is also being questioned by the CBI and has been seen at the agency’s offices for the fifth consecutive day.

The horrific rape and murder, which has sent shockwaves through the medical community, has now reached the Supreme Court. The court, taking up the matter on its own, held a hearing yesterday and proposed the development of a national protocol for doctors’ safety. Despite the court’s request for protesters to resume work, the medical professionals have made it clear that they will not back down until their demands are met.
