A major disaster was averted when a deliberate attempt to derail the Kalindi Express was thwarted in Uttar Pradesh. Saboteurs had placed an LPG cylinder and a bottle of petrol on the railway tracks in a dangerous bid to cause a derailment. The train, traveling from Prayagraj to Bhiwani, narrowly avoided catastrophe thanks to the quick actions of the loco pilot.
The incident occurred near Muderi village, located between Barrajpur and Bilhaur stations along the Kanpur-Kasganj route. Early Sunday morning, the train struck the LPG cylinder, but the vigilant loco pilot noticed the obstruction and applied emergency brakes, preventing the situation from escalating. Along with the cylinder, a petrol bottle and matchbox were also found, suggesting an intention to ignite an explosion.

The Kanpur Police and Railway Protection Force (RPF) swiftly responded to the scene. Senior officials, including Additional Commissioner of Police Harish Chandra, confirmed that the train halted immediately after striking the cylinder.
