Maharashtra: 30-Year-Old Woman Gangraped in Palghar, Three Accused Arrested

a 30-year-old woman was allegedly gangraped in the Nalasopara area of Maharashtra’s Palghar district. The Achole Police Station has registered a case under sections 376D (gang rape), 376(2)(g) (gang rape causing grievous bodily harm or disfigurement), and 342 (wrongful confinement) of the Indian Penal Code, as reported by ANI.

The police have arrested three individuals in connection with the case: Narendra Morya (31), Prakash Singh (26), and Panchraj Singh (35). The accused were presented in court and have been remanded to police custody for five days.

This incident comes close on the heels of another disturbing event that occurred on September 7 in Mumbai’s Borivali area. A 44-year-old rickshaw driver allegedly molested a 15-year-old girl who was on her way to school. The driver fled the scene when the girl protested, according to the police. The MHB police registered a case and, after a five-day search, arrested the absconding accused from the Nalasopara area of Palghar district on Friday.
