Delhi Pradesh Congress on Wednesday staged a protest outside the BJP headquarters, condemning statements made against Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi. In response to these remarks, Congress workers attempted to march towards the BJP office but were stopped by the police due to security concerns. Several leaders, including Delhi Congress President Devender Yadav, were detained but released shortly after.
Devender Yadav accused BJP leaders of instigating provocative comments against Rahul Gandhi, including threats to his life. He stated that although Congress could respond in kind, doing so would go against the party’s traditions, culture, and ideology. Yadav called for the Ministry of Home Affairs to take action against those responsible for such threats against Rahul Gandhi.
Among the protesters were prominent Congress leaders such as Delhi Congress media in-charge Anil Bhardwaj, former Delhi Congress Presidents Subhash Chopra and Chaudhary Anil Kumar, Alka Lamba, former MPs Ramesh Kumar, and Krishna Tirath, along with hundreds of party workers.
