Jamshedpur: A massive explosion occurred at Tata Steel’s power house late on Friday evening, resulting in a severe fire within the company premises. Following three consecutive blasts, panic spread among the employees present in the area, and the surrounding neighborhoods also witnessed chaos.

The flames were so intense that they could be seen from several kilometers away. No casualties have been reported so far. After the incident, the power supply to the command area was disrupted, plunging a significant portion of the city into darkness.

Power at the Tata Main Hospital and MGM Hospital was also affected, forcing the suspension of several surgeries. However, treatment of patients is continuing with the help of power backup.

According to sources, thousands of homes experienced power outages after the explosions, though electricity was restored a few hours later.

The massive fire that followed the explosion at Tata Steel’s power house caused widespread concern in the city.

Company Management’s Statement

In response to the incident, Tata Steel management issued a statement saying that the temporary power cut affected some areas of Jamshedpur, but electricity was restored promptly. To ensure the safety of the blast furnace, gases were released, and the process to restart the furnace was initiated.

The company also clarified that no fire had actually occurred and that all safety protocols were followed. The situation is fully under control, and the public is urged to avoid spreading or believing rumors.
