1. Modi and Putin Meeting: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Russian President Vladimir Putin and conveyed that it is not the time for war. Modi also met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, extended an invitation for him to visit India, and discussed four agreements on cooperation in agriculture, healthcare, culture, and humanitarian aid.
2. Badlapur Sexual Assault Case: The Bombay High Court has banned the shutdown called by the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) over the Badlapur sexual assault case. The court declared the shutdown illegal and prohibited political parties from calling for future shutdowns. Legal proceedings against the accused, Akshay Shinde, are ongoing.
3. Kolkata Rape-Murder Case: In the Kolkata case involving the rape and murder of a trainee doctor, a polygraph test will be conducted for the accused Sanjay Roy and five others, including a former principal and four doctors who dined with the victim. The CBI has questioned 73 individuals so far, and the investigation is continuing.
4. Nepal Bus Accident: A bus from Uttar Pradesh fell into the Marsyangdi River in Nepal, resulting in 27 deaths and 10 injuries. The bus, which was carrying over 40 passengers on a trip from Pokhara to Kathmandu, fell approximately 500 feet into the river.
5. Shakib Al Hasan Accusation: Bangladeshi cricketer Shakib Al Hasan faces allegations of involvement in a student’s murder during recent anti-government protests. Shakib, who was a minister under former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, is currently playing a Test series in Pakistan.
