BAGESHWAR DHAM, MP: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Bageshwar Dham on Sunday afternoon, where he offered prayers at the Balaji temple alongside Pandit Dhirendra Shastri. Following the prayers, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for a cancer hospital. However, amid the formal proceedings, a humorous moment unfolded that had the audience in splits.

During the event, Pandit Dhirendra Shastri revealed that PM Modi himself had participated in the tradition of drawing a ‘slip’ at Bageshwar Dham. The Prime Minister later shared his experience of opening the slip, which led to a lighthearted exchange.

PM Modi Unveils a Special Slip

In a surprising revelation, PM Modi opened a slip that belonged to none other than Dhirendra Shastri’s mother. The slip humorously reflected her wish for her son’s marriage. As Shastri narrated the incident on stage, the audience, including distinguished guests, burst into laughter.

Addressing the gathering, Pandit Dhirendra Shastri said, “When PM Modi met my mother here, he told her, ‘Mataji, today I am opening your slip.’ Then he added, ‘You are thinking about your son’s marriage, isn’t it?’”

In a playful response, Shastri further remarked, “We may not expect you to attend my wedding, but we certainly hope to see you at the inauguration of this hospital.”

PM Modi’s Take on the Incident

PM Modi himself recounted the story, adding his own touch of humor. “When I came here to seek Hanuman Dada’s blessings, I wondered—will Dhirendra Shastri be the only one pulling slips today, or will I get a chance too? Would Hanuman Dada bless me as well? And indeed, I got my chance! I picked my first slip today, and it turned out to be his mother’s slip. Shastri Ji has already shared the details with you.”

The event at Bageshwar Dham not only marked a significant development with the foundation of a cancer hospital but also brought moments of joy and laughter, making it a memorable visit for all present.
