Prayagraj – A stone pelting incident occurred on the Mahabodhi Express, which was traveling from Delhi to Gaya (Bihar) near Prayagraj. The incident took place around 9 PM on Monday, just before the Yamuna Bridge, when miscreants hurled stones at the train. One of the stones hit the guard’s brake panel, but fortunately, no passengers or railway staff were injured.

Upon receiving the guard’s report, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) rushed to the scene and registered a case, initiating an investigation. The train was en route to Mirzapur from Prayagraj when the incident occurred. However, North Central Railway’s Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), Shashikant Tripathi, denied reports of heavy stone pelting, clarifying that only one stone was thrown at the train, and no one has been taken into custody.

No Injuries Reported

Earlier reports suggested that several stones were thrown at the train, with some entering through windows, causing panic among passengers. However, CPRO Tripathi confirmed that this was not the case, and only one stone had been thrown. He reassured that no serious incident had taken place.

RPF Action and Clarifications

Following the incident, RPF Sub-Inspector S.P. Saroj and his team arrived at the scene, but by then, the train had already moved on. The initial claims of heavy stone pelting were refuted by the railway authorities.
