In a surprising incident in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, the Kisan Express split into two parts. The engine, along with 13 coaches, moved 4 kilometers ahead, while 8 coaches were left behind. At the time of the incident, the train was traveling at a speed of 80 to 90 kilometers per hour.

Train Bound for Punjab from Jharkhand

The Kisan Express (13307) was traveling from Dhanbad, Jharkhand, to Firozpur, Punjab. The incident occurred early Sunday morning at around 4 AM between Syohara and Dhampur stations, just beyond Moradabad. Fortunately, no passengers were injured in the incident.

The incident occurred near Chakramal village when the coupling between the S3 and S4 coaches broke, causing the train to split. The guard immediately informed the driver and railway officials. Shortly after, a railway team arrived at the scene, and after an hour of intense effort, the coaches were reconnected to the train. The S4 coach was stopped due to technical issues.

The incident was caused by the coupling failure between the S3 and S4 coaches, which led to the separation of 8 coaches from the engine. After an hour of effort, railway staff managed to reconnect the coaches with the engine.

SDM Ritu Chaudhary arrived at the scene with her team to investigate the situation.

Passengers Create Uproar

Passengers on the train reported that most people were asleep when the incident occurred. When they realized that the coaches had detached, chaos ensued. Both passengers and police exam candidates started protesting.

Officials arrived after the guard’s report and managed to calm the passengers. Vans and buses were arranged to transport the candidates.

SP East, Dharm Singh Marchal, stated that the train split into two due to a technical fault. Most of the passengers in the coaches were candidates for the police recruitment exam. The coaches have been reconnected, and the train has been dispatched.

Track Restored After 3 Hours, Investigation Underway

Aditya Gupta, Senior DCM of Moradabad Rail Division, stated that the train split into two parts due to a broken coupler. The broken coupler will be examined to determine if it was caused by a material defect or some other reason. An investigation has been ordered.

Only after the investigation is complete can any conclusions be drawn. Our top priority was ensuring the safety of the passengers and restoring operations as quickly as possible. All passengers are safe, and rail traffic on the track was restored after 3 hours.
