The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards, held at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, saw a night of historic wins and standout performances. FX’s Shogun dominated the ceremony, setting a new record with 18 awards, the most for a single season of a show. The event, hosted by Eugene and Dan Levy, celebrated exceptional talent across the television landscape.

Shogun’s Historic Triumph

Shogun made Emmy history by clinching 18 awards, including Outstanding Drama Series. The show’s remarkable performance also earned Hiroyuki Sanada the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, and Anna Sawai the award for Outstanding Lead Actress. Frederick E.O. Toye was recognized as Best Director for his work on the series.

Previously, Shogun had secured 14 Creative Arts Emmys, bringing its total tally to an unprecedented 18 Emmys.

Other Major Wins

In the comedy categories, FX’s The Bear continued its winning streak with Jeremy Allen White and Ebon Moss-Bachrach repeating their successes from the previous year. White was honored as Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, while Moss-Bachrach took home Outstanding Supporting Actor. Liza Colón-Zayas also earned her first Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress. Despite its strong showing, The Bear lost out to HBO’s Hacks for Outstanding Comedy Series.

Netflix’s Baby Reindeer also had a standout night, winning Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series. Richard Gadd, the creator of the show, received awards for Outstanding Lead Actor and Outstanding Writing for a Limited or Anthology Series. Jessica Gunning, who played the role of Martha, won Outstanding Supporting Actress.
