Jamshedpur, East Singhbhum: A 27-year-old woman from the Ulidih area of Jamshedpur has been reportedly abducted and raped. The incident took place on Monday evening, but the police were informed about it on Tuesday night. The injured woman has been admitted to MGM Hospital for treatment.

Police Act Swiftly, Arrest Two Accused

The police acted swiftly and arrested two accused, Prakash Sharma and Rahul Mahato, in connection with the case. The investigation is ongoing.

Abducted from Outside Her Home and Taken to Musabani

The victim’s father revealed that they are originally from Dumaria. His daughter, who has been married for nine years, lives in a rented house in the Rajiv Path area of Ulidih. Due to her husband’s addiction, she works in a shop to support herself. On Monday evening, the accused, Prakash Sharma, Rahul Mahakud, and Putua Patar, arrived in a car, forcibly abducted her, and took her to Musabani.

There, Prakash Sharma allegedly raped her in a house, after which she was taken to the forests of Dhobani, where she was assaulted and raped again. The accused also beat her up. On Tuesday morning, they abandoned her near her parental home in Dumaria. The victim was initially taken to Dumaria PHC and then transferred to MGM and TMH hospitals for treatment.

Victim Previously Lived as a Tenant in the Accused’s House

SSP Kishore Kaushal stated that the victim had previously lived as a tenant in Prakash Sharma’s house. She had moved out two years ago to live in Rajiv Path. The victim had also filed a complaint against Prakash Sharma for assault at MGM Police Station earlier, but the matter was settled. The police have now arrested the accused, and the investigation is underway.
