Bollywood actor Malaika Arora’s father, Anil Arora, tragically died by suicide in Mumbai this morning. According to the police, the 65-year-old jumped from his apartment building in Bandra around 9 am. His body has been sent for a post-mortem, and a police investigation is underway.
Malaika’s ex-husband, actor-producer Arbaaz Khan, along with senior police officers, was spotted at her residence following the incident.
Anil Arora, a former Indian Merchant Navy officer, was born in Punjab. Malaika Arora’s parents divorced when she was just 11 years old. After the separation, she moved to Chembur, Mumbai, with her mother, Joyce Polycarp, and her sister, Amrita Arora.
In a recent interview, Malaika reflected on her parents’ separation, acknowledging that while her childhood was largely “wonderful,” it was also a difficult and “tumultuous” time. She credited her mother’s resilience during that period, which greatly influenced her own outlook on life and independence.
The incident has left the family in shock as they await further details.
