New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit the United States from September 21-23, where he will attend the 4th Quad Summit alongside leaders from the US, Australia, and Japan. Hosted by US President Joe Biden in Wilmington, Delaware, the summit will tackle critical global issues, including regional security, the Indo-Pacific strategy, and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
In addition to the Quad meeting, PM Modi will address the UN’s “Summit of the Future” in New York on September 22-23, focusing on creating a global consensus to address contemporary challenges such as sustainable development and digital transformation. The summit, themed “Multilateral Solutions for a Better Tomorrow,” will see PM Modi engage with global leaders on strategies for building a better future.
India to Host the Next Quad Summit in 2025
Although India was originally slated to host this year’s Quad Summit, logistical adjustments led the event to be relocated to the US. However, India is now confirmed to host the Quad Summit in 2025. The current summit will strengthen cooperation among Quad members—India, the US, Japan, and Australia—on critical areas such as technology, climate change, and enhancing maritime security in the Indo-Pacific.
Key Highlights of PM Modi’s US Visit:
- September 21: Quad Summit in Delaware: PM Modi, along with President Biden, Australian PM Anthony Albanese, and Japanese PM Fumio Kishida, will address Indo-Pacific security concerns, strategies for regional stability, and cooperation on climate and technology. This will be the final Quad gathering before some current leaders complete their terms.
- September 22: Indian Community Event in New York: The Prime Minister will engage with the Indian diaspora at a major event titled “Modi & US Progress Together” in Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Over 24,000 attendees are expected, reflecting the strong connection between the Indian community and Modi’s leadership. He will also meet with CEOs of top US companies to discuss collaborations in areas such as AI, semiconductors, and biotechnology.
- September 23: UN ‘Summit of the Future’: PM Modi will address the summit, which aims to discuss multilateral solutions to global challenges like sustainable development and digital innovation. The event will draw leaders from across the globe to formulate a vision for a better international future. PM Modi will also hold bilateral meetings with various world leaders.
This visit underscores India’s growing role on the global stage, particularly as a key player in the Indo-Pacific region and in technological and economic collaboration with major global powers.
