Sandip Ghosh Has a Massive Nexus, I Aim to Expose It: Ex-Deputy Superintendent of RG Kar Hospital

Akhtar Ali, the former Deputy Superintendent of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, has accused Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of the hospital where a trainee doctor was raped and murdered, of being involved in a large-scale corruption network. Ali has called for a high-level investigation into Ghosh’s alleged misconduct.

Ali claimed that Ghosh is connected to multiple scams involving biomedical waste management, unclaimed bodies, and dubious tenders. He stated, “Today, I filed a criminal case in the High Court. The case has been registered, and its admission hearing is scheduled for tomorrow. I have also requested protection from the court due to threats I am receiving. Sandip Ghosh is part of a vast network of corruption that I intend to reveal.”

Ali detailed several alleged irregularities, including the mishandling of dead bodies without proper consent, financial misconduct related to tender processes, and bribery involving students. He asserted that Ghosh’s actions have gone unchecked despite multiple complaints and inquiries.

“There were issues with the handling of dead bodies, which were given to workshops without the proper approvals. I filed complaints with the National Commission and a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the High Court, but no action was taken,” Ali added.

He also mentioned that Ghosh had been transferred twice but returned to his position after each transfer. “I was transferred after exposing his activities. Ghosh operates like a mafia, and I have seen the accused in the ongoing case interacting with him. I have urged the CBI and Enforcement Directorate to intervene and dismantle this extensive network,” Ali concluded.
