In recent times, social media has been abuzz with rumors suggesting a potential romantic connection between shooting star Manu Bhaker and javelin champion Neeraj Chopra. These speculations gained traction after the two athletes met during a felicitation ceremony at the India House in Paris, organized by IOC member and Reliance Foundation chairperson Nita Ambani.
Manu Bhaker, who made headlines at the Paris Olympics, clinched two bronze medals—one in the 10m air pistol event and another in the mixed team event alongside Sarabjot Singh. This achievement marked her as the first Indian to secure such a feat at the Games. Neeraj Chopra, India’s most decorated athlete, added to the nation’s glory by winning a silver in men’s javelin.
Their meeting at the ceremony and subsequent interactions with Manu’s mother have fueled speculations about a possible relationship between the two. To address these rumors, Manu Bhaker’s father, Ram Kishan, spoke to Dainik Bhaskar, firmly putting an end to the speculation. He stated, “Manu is still very young and not even of marriageable age. We are not thinking about it at all.”
Ram Kishan also highlighted the warm relationship between the families, noting that Manu’s mother regards Neeraj as a son. On the other hand, Neeraj Chopra’s uncle also dismissed the rumors, emphasizing that when Neeraj does decide to marry, it will be announced publicly.
While Manu narrowly missed out on a third medal in Paris, finishing fourth in the 25m pistol final after a close contest with Hungary’s Veronika Major, Neeraj’s performance in javelin saw him achieve a commendable silver despite a challenging final.
As both athletes continue to shine in their respective sports, their families have made it clear that their focus remains on their careers and not on speculative rumors.
